How The Smartlipo Procedure Works
A very small cannula tube (approximately 1.0mm to 2.0mm in diameter) containing a laser fiber is inserted into the skin. The tube is then moved back and forth distributing the lasers energy through out the fat cells causing them to rupture and easily deplete away. The laser energy also interacts with the dermis, resulting in collagen shrinkage.
The cannula tube’s small size makes Smart Lipo a minimally invasive procedure that can be performed under local anesthesia. The laser causes small blood vessels to coagulate immediately on contact. This coagulation results in less bleeding, swelling and bruising – and allows a quicker recovery time than conventional liposuction. General anesthesia is unnecessary in this procedure; therefore, Smartlipo is very safe with only minimal side effects.
